The Hermes Constance bag was first designed by Catherine Chaillet in 1959 and was named in honor of her fifth child, Constance, born the same day the first Constance left the Hermes production workshop. Known for its leather shoulder strap that allows the bag to hang freely, the Constance soon became a favorite of Jacqueline Kennedy, former First Lady of the United States, and was popularized among Hollywood’s elite.
